Corporate Social Responsibility

July 2016

Courts, through its CSR Program, donated to the Exodus “Bible Blast from the Past” 2016 Summer Camp. The camp, organized by Phillipa Herrera since 2011 and usually financed through used clothes/food sales, “creates an environment that fosters relationships between children, [ages 4-16], from all areas of [Belize City] and surrounding villages regardless of economic status, [free of cost]”.

The $10,000 donation was used to provide “water, drinks and snacks, Friday Camp closing party bags, prizes, t-shirts for volunteer workers, equipment for the sporting area, [art and craft materials for all campers, plus free transportation to the camp for the children”. The summer camp has reached 681 children and youths from all areas of the City including [kids] from Dorothy Menzies Orphanage.  Courts is proud to have assisted in this year’s Summer Camp!

The Kidney Association of Belize has assisted many Belizeans with dialysis, as the cost of dialysis is expensive and costs between $400-$600 per session. We are pleased to announce that with our $18,000 donation they will be able to assist 6 more patients who previosuly were unable to afford this procedure.

REMAR- Donation

REMAR assisted the Belizean Community by feeding the homeless and unfortunate .  They provide meals for many needy children within the community.  Courts Belize assisted them with an upgraded kitchen complete with refrigerator and small appliances such as a blender and toaster.

Share The Joy – Granting Christmas Wishes

The Share The Joy programme is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative from Courts and in collaboration with our suppliers is aimed at providing a better quality of life to those in need in our society.  We believe that every child should have the basic right to grow and thrive in a safe and enjoyable environment.  In 2014, our children asked and we granted their wishes.  Together with our vendors, we donated much needed furniture, appliances and electronics to nine (9) children’s homes in Belize.  These donations ensured that three hundred and sixty nine (369) children were provided with the necessary equipment in order to develop and succeed now and in the future.

Wishing the children of Liberty Children’s Home, The King’s Children’s Home, Marla’s House of Hope, Dorothy Menzies Child Care Center, Hopewell Children’s Home, Mile 14 Group Home, Youth Hostel, Hosanna House and Laugh Out Loud a happy and enjoyable Christmas season and a New Year filled with hope and success.
